Shawn & Frank is pleased to introduce our collection of ultra soft organic cotton children’s clothing!!

This first release is the super cute Halsten the Moose design! You guys are going to absolutely love the just-too-soft organic cotton — it’s the perfect thickness for winter! You can buy the onesie in Natural or the tee in Olive, both come in a variety of sizes. Plus, the tagless design will keep the kidsies from scratching, and you from worrying.

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to bring one of visions through production!

We want to take this time to offer a BIG thanks to you–our readers–for all your support and encouragement! We honestly couldn’t have done it without you.

Wooden Toys from Chigo

These Japanese wooden toys from Chigo are great feat in minimalist design. We’re loving the simplicity of them! Every piece in the Chigo Playthings line is made from natural, local wood and is dyed using natural pigments. We can’t help but think that the kids around here would love the Chigo Cell Phone or Puzzle Pizza! Among other things, the line include a bowling set, mini band set, camera and kitchen set.

Deluxe Lunchbox by Made by OOTS

Cool lunchbox, right? The Made by OOTS Deluxe Lunchbox is a real Dutch jem. It comes with five containers neatly stacked inside — accommodating a main dish and four sides. We think this is perfect for parents who have older kids who are looking to eat more during their lunch break. The lid is shaped to hold a bottle as well, although the set doesn’t come with one. Plus, it’s definitely friendly, made from BPA-free and phthalate-free polypropylene and safety tested for lead.

Summer Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor

I recently purchased the Summer Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor for about $180 at Babies “R” Us and I have to say it is super cool. With my first child, I used an audiio only monitor which worked well for the time. The Summer Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor adds a whole new dimension to a baby monitor system. I am now able to visually monitor my child day (in color) or night (automatic night vison -  yeah super cool) coupled with an ultra sensitive microphone that can pick up the slightest noise or vibration.  The monitor really helps at night becasuse I no longer have to get up from bed and flip on the lights to check my baby. I can simply hit the video button and see her in a dark room better on the monitor than with my own eyes in the dark. I feel like a jungle cat hunting in the darkness when I look through the monitor in almost complete darkness. The video unit is easy to carry and is also really bright and crystal clear. The only feedback I would suggest is to reposition the “on” light on the camera unit to the back. The “on” light is bright and if you aim the camera at your child’s face it can be to too bright if it is close to her. Nothing a piece of tape can’t fix :) This product is really worth the money. I recommend it - go get one…you’ll see :)

ITZBEEN

The ITZBEEN is a brilliant feeding, sleeping, and diaper changing timer/reminder that keeps you on top of all of you baby’s needs. I purchased an ITZBEEN for about $25 and it has been great. Everytime I complete a feed I simply press the bottle button and the device resets itself to alam at a predetermined time set by me.  It also works for diaper changing and sleeping. The company also added an additional timer for other functions you may need to perform. (giving medication etc. etc.) A really cool feature is the light at the top of the device. Its dim enough not to wake your infant, but bright enough to check if she is still breathing at night (I do this about 5 times a day hehe) Also the easy to read display and the colorful backlight makes it highly visable in the dark. So so recommend.  http://www.itzbeen.com/

4 Moms Clearwater Infant Tub

I came across the 4Moms Clearwater Infant Tub while shopping at Babies “R” Us for my daughter’s home coming from the NICU and a bath demo I was going to attend prior to her discharge. I wanted a durable  tub that was going to give me a clear reading of the water temperature  while I was bathing her. When I saw the 4Moms tub I was impressed by the concept of clean water in, and dirty water out, in addition to the LCD temperature gauge. I was initially hesitant as the plastic tub priced above other tubs at around $40+ Tax. However,  I was willing to give it a try.  On the day of the bath demo, I removed the tub from the box in the hospital parking lot and went straight to the bath demo in the NICU. The nurse who was training me to bathe my premie mentioned how fancy the tub looked. As expected, we were not able to place the tub in a sink, and had to resort to  available counter space.  As we began to fill the tub with water I began  to notice a substancial drip flowing from the tub which graduated to a mini Niagra Falls off the hospital countertop. I was embarrased as I was standing in a puddle of water while trying to hold my infant and block the flow off the countertop with my  body. It was a big mess. After the bath I inspected the tub, and despite all the rubber drains being closed, the water was still able to escape through inadequate seals around all the rubber drains. I was disappointed.

A couple of days later I noticed the temperature gauge was not working. So, I changed out the batteries and realized that the temperature gauge was completely broken (water must have infiltrated the electronics) UHHHH! This was a bad buy. Great concept terrible execution.

Based on my horrible experience with this product I do not recommend it. :(

Inspiration: Crib with Pull-Out Mattress

Another, “why hasn’t anyone else thought of this before” moment came to us when we saw this genius crib designed by Michelle’s husband. After polling mommies he knew, her husband found that most moms hated changing the crib sheets because the mattress was so hard to access. His solution? Have the mattress pull out!

We’re loving this playroom Cookie featured in their “Playroom Ideas” slideshow. It’s Quentin and Stella’s playroom in Berlin, Germany. The alphabet cards on top and those vintage schoolroom chairs really caught our eye!
