Inspired: Rain Gutter Bookshelves

Monday, March 2, 2009
Posted in category Crafts & Art, For the Nursery, For Mommy & Daddy

Uhmm… we’re totally stealing this idea! On her inspiring flickr page, mommy Nicole (nicandboys), shared the wonderful playroom she designed for her kids. Our favorite design element? The library wall display! To achieve this look, Nicole bought a bunch of standard white rain gutters and lined them against the south wall of the room. She filled the “shelves” with kid’s classics and favorites and voila … a cheap, simple, and innovative library.

It totally helps that the bright orange contrasts so well with the white gutters, so if you’re going to attempt this project, be sure to keep that in mind. Also, we can’t help but think the alphabet cards above, and play table below essentially complete the look!

Nice! Great job! The room looks neat with it and the color of the wall blended well with the books!
